Mandra
Wabäck
Mandra Wabäck was born in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1970. At age 18 she
graduated from the Swedish school of photography and immediately after she
moved on to Amsterdam to study at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, where she
graduated in 1994 as a filmmaker and visual artist. After several solo and
group exhibitions in Holland and abroad, she decided to continue and explore
filmmaking. As if two schools weren't enough for her, she got selected to
the prestigious Dutch Film and Television Academy, where she graduated as a
filmdirector in 2001.
Mandra has set up a small production company, CUT production, to produce her
own independent films. She is currently working on a contemporary dance film
and a drama production. Her first documentary, "beautiful frenzy", about a
Dutch band had its world première at IDFA 2001.
